Originally red clay courts, The Woodmere Clubs tennis program dates back to the early 1930’s, hosting several ELTA events and NY State championships. Over the years, the club has employed some of the best professionals in the game, including John McEnroe’s first coach, the legendary Danny Dwyer.
Danny was the pro for over forty years, and in that time built the best tennis program on the South Shore. His efforts went beyond the club though, founding the National Tennis Association for the Disabled.
Today the Woodmere Club’s boasts six hard-tru tennis courts, some of the oldest in the country. Our tennis community is active every Saturday and Sunday Morning along with exciting weekday Twilight Tennis tournaments.
Our Head Professional is Eric Morales.
